Judy Carolyn (Griffin) Stoecker

Judy was born in Drexel, NC on June 3rd, 1945 to Virginia Louise Branch Griffin and Alvin Griffin.

Judy was proceeded in death by her husband Leon, both of her parents, sisters: Faye Griffin, Cuvie LeGalle, Margie Behar, Sylvia Pierce and her brother, Ricky Griffin.

Survivors include Sisters: Dorothy Prior of Yreka, Joyce Sanchez of Herald and Kay Sims of Hornbrook, Sister-In-Law Rita Lucas of Gig Harbor WA, son Eddie Stoecker and daughter-in-law Anne of Placerville, daughter Dariene Airola and son-in-law Jason of Oakdale. Grandchildren: Leon, Charley and Layne Airola, Trentin and Chase Stoecker and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

When Judy was 14, she moved out to California with family. Over the years she met the love of her life, Leon Stoecker, and on June 7th, 1969 at the age of 24 (Leon 30) they were happily married and resided in Franklin, CA.

Judy worked the night shift, which she preferred, at Pacific Bell Phone Company for many years until the birth of her son, Eddie, in 1973, where she lovingly chose to become a homemaker. She was not only the most loving mom to her children, but she was a mom to anyone who needed love, hugs and advice. She was that faithful rock of her family and a magnet to others who needed love and the word of God in their lives. She enjoyed being an Avon representative, and being involved in the PTA at Franklin Elementary where her children attended. Coming from a musical background, she loved to play guitar, write and sing songs with all her sisters as they all had a passion for music. At any family gathering, guitars, microphones and an amplifier was a MUST.

Judy unfortunately became a widow at the young age of 45, but she continued to be strong for her children and family. Although struggling with losing her husband, Judy remained the wonderful independent woman she always was, still loving and spreading God's word to all, caregiving for her in-laws and other family members and beaming with God's spirit. She loved to read and learn new things, she wasn't afraid to take risks or let anyone tell her she couldn't do something. She took several computer courses at Consumnes River College and eventually became office manager for RFC Manufacturing. She eventually moved out to Herald CA in 2004. Finally, when RFC Mfg. had to close, she decided to go ahead and retire and live out her years in Herald. She visited family and friends, babysat her grandchildren, attended church and loved to talk with her sisters daily and in 2009 when her sister, Joyce, became a widow, she came to live with Judy where they were company for one another.

Judy struggled with lung issues over the years, and finally lived her last few months in Oakdale CA. with her daughter, Dariene. She was surrounded by love from grandkids and family, and was finally able to breath peacefully when her Lord, her Master, decided to carry her home on the morning of Wednesday, April 26th 2023.

Vistation will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 5:00 - 8:00pm at East Lawn Elk Grove, 9189 E Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the same location as the visitation. The burial service will begin at 11:30 am on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Franklin Cemetary, 4109 Hood Franklin Road, Elk Grove, CA 95757. A reception will follow at HayTone’s Hangout, 10413 Franklin Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95757.
