Lulona Steele Chandler, 81, of Tonganoxie, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022. She was born Oct. 28, 1940 in French Camp, California, the daughter of Francis and Lucille (Basye) Steele. Lulona graduated from Galt High School and attended San Jose Bible College.

Preceding Lulona in death were her parents; her brother, Edwin Steele; three children, Kent, Brian and Devin; and one grandchild, Michelle Chandler.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Frank Chandler; three sons, Bart Chandler of Lawrence, Kansas; Todd Chandler of Talbott, Tennessee; and Nathaniel Chandler of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Dale Steele of Malabar, Florida; four sisters, Johanna Sweatt of Boise, Idaho; Raynette Steele and Connie Spence of Galt, California; and Janet Bentz of Stayton, Oregon; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Galt Bible Church in Galt, and a memorial service will be held at a later date at the Cornerstone Family Worship in Tonganoxie, Kansas.

The goal of Lulona and her husband Frank was to serve the needy and homeless. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name can be made to Union Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 1108, Sacramento, CA 95812 or
