Mary Chapman, 82 and lifelong resident of Galt, died Jan. 1, 2020 at Lodi Nursing and Rehab following a long-term illness. She was born May 6, 1937 in Victor, Calif.
Mary had worked as a bus driver, custodian, roach coach driver, Shaklee distributor, foster mother, and as a volunteer at the Grange. She enjoyed fishing, ceramics, cooking, camping, vintage cars, trouble making, joke telling, garage sales, collecting many things, and flirty girties.
Surviving are her children, Cheri, Rory, Scott, Joann, Frances, Hazel and Joy; nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Jim Chapman.
A Celebration of Life and potluck will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Valley Oaks Grange, on the corner of Fifth and D streets in Galt.
