Mike Henrikson

Mike Henrikson, 75, passed away from pneumonia on Dec. 31, 2020 at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento. He was born March 15, 1945 in Iowa and became a Galt resident in 1983.

Mike was a Navy pilot in Vietnam, an airline captain for Flying Tigers and FedEx, and a pig farmer in Galt. When asked about the farm, he would sharply reply, “I’m not raising pigs, I’m raising kids.”

He enjoyed his days working with Galt 4-H and mornings with the cowboys at Denny’s. Mike was a storyteller, joke enthusiast and known for his worldly insights.

Surviving Mike are his wife Ellen; sons Kevin (Ann), Kurt (Crystal) and John (Ieva); daughter Kate; and four grandchildren, Brooke, Ethan, Alex and Lizzy.

Services will be private with a memorial celebration to be held later in the spring.

Instead of flowers, the family requests donations in honor of Mike may be made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society in Arlington, Va.
