We regret to inform the community that Nicole Silvey has taken the next step of her journey and has left this world to be with God. On November 22nd at 9:19pm, Nicole passed away from Covid related complications. Her family was with her every step of the way, and while we are sad to see her go, we are relieved to know her struggling is finished, and we are extremely grateful for the time we were given with her.
Nicole Delphine Silvey was born on March 31, 1976 in Walnut Creek, CA to Phillip and Louella Cruz. She attended Our Lady Fatima in Modesto and St. Anne's elementary school in Lodi, where she started playing softball and she developed her passion for playing. She attended Christian Brothers high school as part of the first coed class to graduate in 1994. She was a valiant academic throughout her adolescence. This carried her into college where she attended Seattle University on a full ride scholarship for academics and pitched for the first softball team since the school was established in 1889. She earned a BA in political science and she minored in psychology as well as being the first generation in her family to graduate from college. Her love for education brought her back to Galt to teach for the last 24 years. Nicole has held a great many crucial positions during her journey at Galt High. All of which made long lasting impacts on her students and colleagues. Some of which have developed in life long relationships. Nicole's greatest accomplishments have been raising her 3 sons with the overarching goal for them to go further in life than she did. She carried that same emphasis into helping raise and support her stepchildren.
