Rose Rocha of Galt, 90, passed away from natural causes at home on April 20, 2019. She was born in Tiburon, Calif., on June 12, 1928. At the age of 3, she and her family moved back to the Azores, Portugal.
In 1953, Rose and her husband, John V. Rocha, along with their three sons, John, George and Frank, moved back to America. Their daughter Helen was born two years later in San Jose. The family came to Galt in 1961 where they started their own dairy farm. Rose was a member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church.
Surviving Rose are her three sons, John (Maria) Rocha, George (Lucy) Rocha and Frank (Mary) Rocha, all of Galt; daughter, Helen (Tony) Mello of Galt; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, May 2, with rosary at 10:30 a.m., mass at 11 a.m., at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Galt, and committal immediately following the service at the Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.
