Russ met the love of his life Lori in 1974 in Half Moon Bay. They married Oct. 15, 1977 in San Francisco. They welcomed their first child Jennifer on Oct. 19, 1980 and their second child Joseph on May 8, 1985. They moved to Galt in April 1991.

Preceding him in death were his parents Gerald and Shirley Capote, Fred and Stella Giusto, and brothers Patrick Capote and Tony Giusto.

Russ was a member of the Half Moon Bay Coastriders Car Club; he was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved watching NASCAR races. At the time of his death, he was restoring his prized 1949 Ford truck, but he treasured his family most of all and his dogs Blu and Roxy. Russ touched many lives along the way, and the impact he had on everyone’s lives will forever be missed.

A small service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Flowers at Cherokee Memorial at 14165 N. Beckman Road in Lodi. He will be remembered as a man with a big heart.
