Shirley Breitmaier (Walker) of Galt passed away on January 26, 2021 due to numerous health conditions.
Shirleys folks Oscar and Clona Walker left Texas during the great depression, California bound. This journey took several years and along the way Clona gave birth to Shirley in Tempe Arizona on February 22, 1936 by shelter of a tent.
The family's journey continued to California and they settled in Thorton /Walnut Grove area. Shirley attended and graduated eighth grade at the walnut grove elementary school .
She loved to roller skate at Kings roller rink in Franklin California and that's where she met Victor Breitmaier.
They were married on March 22, 1952 and made their home in Galt California where they raised two sons and a daughter, Wesley Alex, Marvin Gene, and Karen Marie Breitmaier.
Shirley was a homemaker and home was always a wonderful place for her family. As her family grew, her home was the center hub for everyone , it was always the “go to place”. She enjoyed gardening. She spent countless hours maintaining her yard . No matter who you were or when you popped in she always had time to spend. No one was a stranger , if you met her you were her friend. She was always the first to forgive and never gave up on anyone . She will be so dearly missed.
Shirley was affectionately known as “Grandma Shirley” by many.
She was a life long member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Galt where Shirley taught many many years of Sabbath school while her family was young. She was a member until her passing.
Shirley is survived by Marvin Breitmaier (son) Karen Breitmaier (daughter) Ivy Breitmaier (daughter-in-law ). Grand children Greg (Dawn)Flory, Tiffany (Michael ) Wipfli, Sarah Jean Breitmaier, Logan (Kendra) Breitmaier, Courtney Breitmaier, Wesley Stanfill, Daniel (Kari) Stanfill . Shirley also lives behind 13 great grandchildren
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Victor Breitmaier, her first born son Wesley Breitmaier, Siblings Mary Lea Ramsey, Stella Wageman , Keith Walker. Lexy Flory great granddaughter.
Graveside services will be held at the Galt cemetery on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1 PM
