Born on January 14, 1940 in Lodi California. Susan passed away peacefully after a long illness on December 10, 2020. Susan was a lifelong resident of Galt and graduate of Galt High School, class of 1957.
Susan had a 28-year career as a rural letter carrier in the Galt, Wilton, and Dixon Post Offices. She spent time as a local union Shop Steward representing her fellow rural carriers. Always on the go, Susan loved to laugh and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, spending time with family and friends, and breeding and showing dogs.
Everything Susan did, she did with passion, enthusiasm, and commitment. Susan will be forever remembered as a very modest and generous person, always sacrificing her own needs and wants for those of her children and grandchildren. Besides her family, Susan's biggest passion was breeding and showing dogs. She was quite accomplished as a breeder of soft coated wheaten terriers and owner of Carlinayer Kennel in Galt, receiving numerous awards and international recognition for her kennel and commitment to the breed. She produced several top US Champion show dogs for her breed from 1988 to 1994.
Susan is survived by her brothers Shirley Stribling Jr. (Phyllis) of Livermore, Michael Stribling (Karen) and family of Galt, Jerry Stribling and family of Galt, sisters Carla Weidner and family of Sacramento, and Nancy Briles and family of Sacramento, son Dennis B. Strange (Ella) of Galt, CA, son Terry L. Strange (Erin) of Wilseyville, CA, daughter Melissa “Missy” J. McNabb of Loomis, CA, and son Jack Anthony “Tony” Strange of Galt, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents Shirley J. Stribling Sr. and Mellissa J Stribling, brother Robert Stribling, granddaughter Shelby Strange, and great grandson Logan Strange. She has seven grand-children, Drew, DeeDee, Jordan, Troy, MacKenzie, Muriel, and Merrick; nine great grandchildren Paisley, Braydon, Ethan, Britton, Grant, Charlotte, Trevor, Leah and Jade; and many nephews and nieces.
A celebration of Susan's life will be held in Galt at a future date and time.
