The third and final faceoff between Galt High and Liberty Ranch baseball ended with a different result for the Warriors. The Warriors playing at home, started a rally that the Hawks were not able to answer, and the final score was Galt 5, Liberty Ranch 1.

The previous two face-offs ended with Liberty Ranch winning 11-3 and 9-5.

The Warriors played well with few errors and were able to get moving with hits and RBI. Assistant coach Mike Tassano was acting as head coach because head coach Jason Evans had been ejected and suspended by the umpire at the previous game against Liberty Ranch at Galt Community Park.

“I believe in my players,” said Tassano. “I know they had it in them. It was a total team effort. Tyler (Little) pitched a gem and his defense backed him all the way.”

Galt Pitcher Tyler Little only surrendered one run over seven innings, striking out six Hawks.

Warrior Larry Perucca started off the scoring in the second inning. Galt’s Enrique Hernandez, Mason Tassano and Jaylen Gunter scored in the third inning with Oscar Romero scoring in the fourth. Joseph Ortiz had three RBI and Enrique Hernandez had one.

The Warriors are ranked fourth and will play Rosemont twice this week and Union Mine twice next week to end their regular season of play.

Liberty Ranch is ranked second league and will play El Dorado twice this week and Rosemont twice next week.
