Having made an impact on the Galt Warriors’ wrestling program thanks to his solid performance throughout all four years, last month Will Farren secured the next step in his future by signing a wrestling plus academic scholarship with Dakota Wesleyan University.
Farren, who graduated from Galt in spring 2021, will be studying nursing and said that the school was the right fit for him based on both their nursing program and wanted to explore the chance to wrestle at the college level with Dakota.
“The nursing program that they have here really made me interested in the school. Wanting to help people. I feel like it’s right for me,” Farren said.
Farren plans to wrestle in the 125-pound weight class and after moving into a dorm with several of his teammates and training for the new season with the team, he said the program has a solid chemistry.
“Pretty close, we’ve all been hanging out together,” Farren said.
As for goals, Farren said that improving his wrestling game will be a focus for the upcoming season, which starts in November.
“I think honestly for this year, I want to focus on becoming a better wrestler and gaining weight. I train four days a week but soon it might change to five days a week, about an hour and a half per day.”
