Ivette Gallegos, a senior at Liberty Ranch High School, has signed a contract to play stunt at Concordia University in Irvine, Calif. Concordia is a Lutheran University that is a NCAA Division II PacWest competitor with about 5,000 undergraduate students.
Gallegos will be a flyer on the stunt team, and she plans to major in psychology.
“I am so excited to take on stunt at the collegiate level and meet my new teammates/coaches,” said Gallegos. “If it wasn’t for my coach, Barbara Welch, telling me to ‘stay up there’, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today. I am sad to leave my coaches and friends at LRHS but I am ready to pursue my dreams”.
The main reason Gallegos chose to attend Concordia is to continue her stunt career. “They have a great team; the coaches are very experienced, and I am excited to train under them and represent the colors of the school. The campus is absolutely beautiful and very safe. I just find this school inspirational and motivating, the religious activities as well as the leadership of Concordia.”
