This year, 510 children participated in the various teams, and the champions have been named.

For softball, there were 21 teams in five divisions for a total of 230 girls. The Rookies start with the 5-6 year old age group using machine pitch, and had four teams. Lastly, Babe Ruth 13-16 year olds included two Galt teams and five teams from the Elk Grove and Pocket area.

Baseball had 280 boys and girls who made up 27 teams and were divided into four divisions. There were seven Rookie teams for the 5-6 year olds. The Farm division consisted of 7-8 year olds with seven teams while the Minors were for 9-10 year olds with five teams. Lastly, the Majors for 11-12 year olds had four teams.

Each team played 12-16 regular season games with additional games played for the championships.

With 510 children to organize, GYB board and president Jason Adversalo owe a debt of gratitude to all the volunteers. “Thank you to the many volunteers who make this happen for our children,” said Adversalo. “It literally took an army of coaches, scorekeepers, snack bar workers and many others behind the scene to serve our community’s children. I myself and the board want to give a huge shout out and thanks.”
