The Liberty Ranch Hawks shut out Bradshaw Christian in their Sierra Valley Conference opener on March 6 as it hosted the Pride and won 2-0.

Max Adversalo went 2 for 2 with a run, Jimmy Brown went 1 for 2 with an RBI, Louis Manning went 1 for 3 with a run and Brett Hughes had an RBI to lead the Hawks’ offense.

Senior pitcher Kenny Morgan earned the complete-game win by limiting the Pride to just four hits while striking out 13 at Galt Community Park.

Logan San Filippo went 2 for 3 to lead the Pride and Joey Grandchamp pitched five innings, giving up six hits and two runs (one earned), while striking out two.

The Hawks went on to defeat Dixon in a practice game on March 9, 6-0 in which Easton Hawkins pitched 4.2 innings and gave up five earned runs (six total) and eight hits and struck out three.

Cameron Hooper pitched one inning and struck out one while Jimmy Brown pitched one-third of an inning and walked one and struck out one.

The Hawks also faced Central Catholic March 4 in a 7-1 loss and traveled to Pioneer on March 3 for a game in which they lost 3-2.

After facing Galt in the opener of the teams’ three-game season series, the Hawks’ next game is Thursday at El Dorado.
