Although the game was almost tied at half, the Liberty Ranch girls’ basketball team persevered and came out ahead of Bear Creek 51-46 last Wednesday.

Bear Creek was a worthy opponent according to head coach Sean Duryee.

“It was a tight game and our shots just weren’t falling in the first half,” said Duryee.

“The ladies came back and kept shooting and playing offense and got on a little run and were able to get ahead.  Bear Creek is a good team. Coach D has a lot of respect from us and a lot of our girls have played for him in the past. It could have gone either way, but shots started falling in the back.”

The top scorers of the night were Sydney Duryee with 16 points, Carlie McCormick, who came off the bench to fill a starter roll, with 12 and Sophia Felix with 10.
