The Liberty Ranch boys soccer team pauses for a senior night picture on Feb. 6. The Hawks would end up defeating El Dorado the same night, 2-1.

The Liberty Ranch Hawks boys soccer program celebrated their senior night in the best way possible after they defeated El Dorado 2-1 on Feb. 6.

The win was the Hawks’ sixth league win and tied the Cougars for second place in the Sierra Valley Conference.

Isaac Sandoval scored twice and Damion Ochoa and Harlee Vidrio both assisted.

The Hawks also defeated Union Mine two days earlier, shutting out the Diamondbacks 8-0 at Liberty Ranch High School.

Isaac Sandoval led the Hawks’ offense, unleashing five goals on the Diamondbacks; Brent Goes added one goal and one assist and Ivan Zavala added a goal.

Angel Carillo added two assists, David Cruz had an assist, Vidrio had one assist and Julian Rodriguez and Julio Pargas Jr. added an assist.

The Hawks finished their last SVC game Feb. 11 against Rosemont but will play a non-league game Thursday against Encina Prep at 6 p.m.

Liberty Ranch will start the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs next week; as of publication, brackets had not yet been released but will be released this week by the SJS. They can be found on
