The Liberty Ranch Hawks, fresh off of their successful weekend at the CIVT Invitational, hosted Bradshaw Christian on Sept. 23 and won 3-0.

The Hawks had gone 4-2 at the CIVT tournament, and improved their overall record to 9-14 and are also 1-0 in the Sierra Valley Conference entering tonight’s game at Galt High School at 6 p.m.

At CIVT, the Hawks lost the first match to Orland and lost their third match to St. Patrick-St. Vincent (with the same score of 2-0).

However, they won 2-1 against Sacramento Country Day, and later defeated Buckingham Charter 2-0.

Against Esparto and Clear Lake, the Hawks also won 2-0 to close out their day with their winning record.

Two days before the tournament, which was held at Capital Sports Center, the Hawks played Bear River and lost 3-0.

Kaydence Storms led the Hawks with 22 attacks, 11 digs and four kills and Makynna Snow had 18 attacks, 11 digs and three kills, while Bailey Furtado had 10 assists.

On Sept. 18, the Hawks hosted Lodi and lost 3-1. The Hawks won the first set 25-23, and then lost 20-25, 16-25 and 13-25.

Stormes led with 28 attacks and six kills while Snow had 19 attacks and six kills.

Keauna Cason led with 12 digs, Snow added seven more and Furtado had 19 assists.

The Hawks will go for win number two in league play when they travel across town to face the Warriors at 6 p.m.
