The Liberty Ranch Hawks came away with MVPs in two sports at the conclusion of the Sierra Valley Conference fall season.

Genevieve Akers was named SVC Golf MVP and Cristian Martinez was named Cross-Country MVP, according to lists that were released to the media on Nov. 20.

The Hawks placed second in league with 14 points for girls’ golf; also making the list for golf were Akers’ teammate Ashlin McCormick and Galt’s Sabrina Welch.

For volleyball, Galt’s Haley Sanchez, Mizan Johnson and Olivia Valdez were named All-League; for the Hawks, Makynna Snow, Keauna Cason and Bailey Furtado were named All-League. Liberty Ranch and El Dorado tied for second in league with 7-3 records, while Galt finished a breakthrough year with a fourth place finish.

Union Mine’s Jacqueline Markley was named Coach of the Year and Alli McDonald of the Diamondbacks was named volleyball MVP.

Six Hawk football players were named All-League. Kade Koepplin, Rosalio Lopez, Isiah Ricci, Nani Brown, Austin Davis and Colby Kurtz received honors, while the Warriors’ Robert Bulahan Jr., Marcelo Lopez, Kenny Tran and David Vitoria were named to the football All-League list.

Rosemont took home both the Coach of the Year and MVP honors, with Rick Wanlin winning the Coach of the Year vote and DeMarco Brodnax earning MVP.

Madison Petersen of the Warriors and her teammate Cheyenne Ullrich earned All-League, as did Liberty Ranch’s Braden Birkes for cross-country. El Dorado’s Chloe Gautschi won the girls’ MVP for cross-country.
