A consistent performance by the Liberty Ranch Hawks turned into a win in their season opener as Elijah Freeman, Aidan Carr and Isiah Ricci led the offense in a 41-6 victory over Johnson.

The Hawks started off their scoring in the second quarter, when Carr threw a 10-yard pass to Ricci for a touchdown and Damion Ochoa kicked the PAT for a 7-0 lead.

Ricci then scored on a seven-yard run for a 13-0 lead.

Carr later completed a 45-yard pass to Freeman for a touchdown and Ochoa kicked the PAT to end the half with a 20-0 lead.

In the third quarter, Freeman scored on a five-yard run before Ochoa kicked the PAT for a 27-0 lead.

The Hawks then recovered a fumble by Johnson and Ricci scored on a 17-yard run.

In the fourth quarter, Johnson scored on a two-yard run and failed on a two-point conversion attempt to trail 34-6.

Later in the quarter, Jordan Besabe scored on a 10-yard run and Ochoa kicked the PAT for the 41-6 win.

The Hawks will go for their second win when they host Center at 7:30 p.m.
