The Liberty Ranch Hawks faced Galt on Sept. 25 at Warrior Gym and defeated the Warriors 3-1 on the court.

The win was the Hawks’ second Sierra Valley Conference win, and they had a 10-14 overall record entering this week’s games. The win came two days after the Hawks shut out Bradshaw Christian.

The Warriors went on to defeat the Pride for their first league win and a league record of 1-1.

Against the Warriors, the Hawks’ Emma Pearson led with 39 attacks while Kaydence Stormes added 22 attacks. Pearson also led with 10 kills, while Stormes added nine.

The Warriors won the first set 25-19, then Liberty Ranch won 25-17, 25-22, 25-13.

Makynna Snow had eight aces, and Eliana Pearson and Stormes tied with eight digs apiece.

The Warriors faced Bradshaw Christian on Sept. 30 with the final score of 24-26, 25-20, 23-25, 26-24, 15-13 Galt in Elk Grove.

The win was the Warriors’ first league win since 2017, when they defeated Cordova (which has since been moved out of the SVC due to realignment) and Rosemont, and owned a 3-7 SVC record.

Against Bradshaw Christian, the Hawks won 25-22, 25-17 and 25-14 on Sept. 23.
