Even though Liberty Ranch came into this week’s game against Bradshaw with a 7-0 record, they had a lot to prove and didn’t take anything for granted. In the entire history of Liberty Ranch football, they had never had a win against private school, Bradshaw Christian.

The undefeated Hawks imposed their will on the Pride using their griding ground game. Arthur Draeger had four touchdowns, all in the first half. He carried the ball 23 times for 248 yards. He now has 1,418 yards rushing on the season, averaging 177 yards a game, plus he’s now scored 24 touchdowns.

Liberty Ranch, now 8-0, amassed 439 yards on the Pride, all on the ground. Their only pass was intercepted.

The most Bradshaw Christian could do was manage two Ethan Rickert to Nathan Zeppieri touchdown passes of 26 and 35 yards. Otherwise, the Hawks dominated the Pride all evening.

Pride coach Drew Rickert: “They are a very good football team, they are well-coached, they have size. They overwhelmed us a little bit tonight. We start nine sophomores on defense and that maturity, and that size gets you. They battled and we played hard, but we got beat by a better team tonight.”

Liberty head coach Warren Schroeder had the Hawks work to shut down Bradshaw’s running game.

“We knew that Bradshaw was a well-coached team that would present different challenges for us,” said Schroeder. “We focused on shutting down their formidable running game and hoped to force them to throw the ball. I am proud that our team once again executed a well-thought-out game plan on both sides of the ball to give LRHS their first victory ever vs. Bradshaw Christian.”

Going into halftime Liberty Ranch was up 28-7 and the final score was 42-14.
