The Hawks took the bus up the hill to face El Dorado in their first league game. The Hawks dominated the first quarter and did let the Cougars find the end zone. They scored 13 points in the first quarter.
They kept pecking away at the Cougars and scored another nine points the second quarter, and ended the half with Liberty Ranch ahead 22-0.
El Dorado stepped it up the third quarter and scored 14 points to Liberty’s 7, but Liberty shut them down in the fourth quarter and didn’t let them score while they scored 13 points. The final score was Liberty Ranch 42, El Dorado 14.
Arthur Draeger and Kymani Fenika each scored two touchdowns, and Gavin O’Brien and Armando Tapis each scored one, while kicker Julian Rodriguez made 7 PAT points.
Interceptions were snagged by Shaye Setter, Armando Tapia and Kymani Fenika. Jovani Herrera, Arthur Draeger and Kymani Fenika each had six tackles, while brothers Nick and Anthony Camarillo each dropped three.
Arthur Dreager continues to dominate the rushing world, gaining 161 rushing and 51 receiving. Gavin O’Brien was moving the ball and gained 122 yards rushing. Shaye Setter had 55 total yards, while Armando Tapia had 37 and Kymani Fenika added 118 total yards to his game. Fenika also passed for 64 yards.
The Hawks will play Rosemont at home this week for their second league game.
