The Liberty Ranch golf team ready for divisionals

It comes down to the League Tournament for golf and, on a very windy day, the Liberty Ranch men’s golf took second place. After that, they move on to Divisionals in Merced.

David Suarez and Ben Mitchell have been battling for the first spot all season, and league was no different, as they tied. Liberty had a total of 501 strokes to come in second place. Individual scores: David Suarez 91, Ben Mitchell 91. Jorge Oceguera 99, Chris Gutierrez 103, Sean O’Brien 117, and Kobe Aguillen 124.

Head Coach Mike Turpin enjoyed watching his team improve this season.

“The boys battled the elements at the league tourney,” said Turpin. “It was extremely windy, and the greens were firm and fast. It was nice to see them work through tough conditions and battle to retain second place in league. They’ve been a great group of kids to work with this year.”
