In an impressive season, Liberty Ranch tennis came away with zero losses. In league play, that means their record stands at 10-0.

Kessler Coleson, a junior, is the number one singles tennis player on the team

“Our hard work and perseverance paid off,” said Coleson, who has played since the 7th grade. “It keeps me focused and I really enjoy the social and camaraderie of the team. We really support each other.”

Their last win was against El Dorado and it was a close match, but the final score was Liberty Ranch 5, El Dorado 4. According to head coach Hunter Franklin, the last win didn’t come easy.

“The match against El Dorado came down to the wire,” said Franklin. “Omar and Fatima were able to stage a phenomenal comeback during the tiebreaker and came home with a razor close 10-8 win to win the whole day for us.”

For boys singles, Kessler Coleson came away with 6-1 and 6-0 wins, and Michael Gale beat his opponent 6-2 and 6-1.

Boys doubles also won with Mason Rold and Jorge Cerda-Luna winning 6-4, 6-1, and the team of Denilson Mena and Joshua Wolinek winning 6-1, 6-0.

The mixed doubles team of Omar Abdelsamie and Fatima Lopez went into a tie breaker with 6-4, 1-6, 10-8.
