Last week, 32 Galt girls participated in a volleyball camp hosted by the Liberty Ranch High School volleyball program.

The girls who are going into 6th, 7th or 8th grade started out the weeklong camp learning the fundamentals of passing, hitting, serving and blocking.

As the week progressed, the girls learned the game fundamentals and were grasping the rules and were able to play games. On the last day, Friday, the girls were split into teams by color and the Hawk ladies created a tournament for the girls to play in.

Coach Bryanna Friend said the orange came out on top of the tournament. “Overall, the girls had a load of fun and learned so much about the sport,” said Friend. “We intend to do this as an annual event to prepare girls to try volleyball in high school.”
