Jalen Patterson

After a monstrous season of setting records and making his mark on the Sac-Joaquin Section, Liberty Ranch’s Jalen Patterson made his college plans official, according to athletic director Anthony Linebaugh, by signing his letter of intent to play basketball for Arizona Western College.

The Matadors, who are coached by Charles Harral, were 18-14 during the 2019-20 season and went 25-9 the prior year.

Patterson averaged 28.1 points per game in his senior year with the Hawks, 6.6 rebounds per game and 6.3 assists per game in leading Liberty Ranch to the Sac-Joaquin Section Championship game as well as the CIF Nor Cal playoffs.

Patterson, who was voted Sierra Valley Conference MVP this season, became the second-leading all-time scorer in Sac-Joaquin Section history, as well, and was awarded an honorary ball this season after setting the new mark and is the Hawks’ all-time scoring leader.
