Olivia Torres competes at the Napa Valley Girls Classic over the Jan. 10-11 weekend.

The Liberty Ranch Hawks wrestling program competed at the Napa Valley Girls Classic Jan. 10-11 against some of the top wrestlers in the area.

Itzel Medina-Valdez competed in the 106-pound division and scored 16 points for the Warriors. Medina-Valdez won by fall in the first round and lost her second match but then won the next four consolation rounds, defeating Jaiya Pravash of James Logan by fall, Joscelyn Beebe of Willits by fall, Jennifer Reyes of Franklin of Elk Grove by fall and earning her last win over Elizabeth Espinoza of Reed.

In the final consolation round, Medina-Valdez lost by fall.

Julisa Deltoro competed in the 111-pound division and scored seven points for the Hawks. Deltoro won 13-2 over Rheeva Chakraborty of Dougherty Valley in the first round and defeated Camille Shaver of Eureka by fall. Deltoro then lost in the third championship round by fall and ended her day in the first round of the consolation bracket.

In the 116-pound division, Olivia Torres scored three points for the Hawks.

Torres lost in the first round to Carina Sanchez of Half Moon Bay before defeating Natalie Arachi of Eureka in the consolation round. Torres finished the day in the second round of the consolation bracket.
