Galt varsity baseball opened up league play on Thursday, March 5 with a win against El Dorado. The Warriors were led on the mound by Tyler Little, who pitched six innings and gave up five hits and 0 earned runs, while striking out seven Cougar hitters. Little was relieved by Sebastian Soto, who set El Dorado down in order in the seventh inning to end Galt’s first league game of the 2020 season.

Offensively, the Warriors were led by Aiden Humphreys, who had three hits. Logan Mayfield, Aaron Rosalia, Mateo Santoyo and Ethan Reese also added hits, while seven different Warriors scored a run.

Galt is now 3-0 and 1-0 in Sierra Valley Conference league play. Next up is Rio Vista on Saturday and then Liberty Ranch on Tuesday, both at Galt High School.

Galt also beat Venture Academy March 3 by a score of 16-2 in a mercy-rule shortened game.

Galt was led offensively by Joe Ortiz, who had four hits and a double with six RBI. Logan Mayfield added two hits with a triple, and Oscar Romero added two hits with a double. Mason Tassano, Aaron Rosalia, Aiden Humphreys, Cole Erman and Dominic Flores all added a hit each.

Sebastian Soto earned the win, giving up two hits and striking out six, and Aaron Rosalia also pitched, striking out three.
