Kaya Weaver, with parents Keesha and Matt Weaver, signs her letter of intent to play volleyball for the University of Texas at El Paso in the fall. UTEP is a Division 1 NCAA team and has a very successful volleyball program that is strongly supported by the residenys of El Paso.

Weaver, who is the first Galt athlete to earn a volleyball scholarship in as long as anyone can remember, played varsity volleyball since her freshman year at GHS. She had a lot of colleges interested in her skills, but decided on Texas.

“I chose this school because I loved the coaches, teammates and the community,” said Weaver. “I would like to thank my mom and dad, my family, friends and club coaches for always supporting me.”
